BIAFF 2025 – BIAFF  Film Week Winners

On December 13-17, the BIAFF Batumi Film Festival was held in Batumi in the format of the BIAFF Film Week. Film screenings took place over four days at the Cavea Grand Mall Cinema and 15 full-length and 25 short films from more than 20 countries were presented.

BIAFF 2025 was held in a different format due to the lack of financing this year (all government funds are cut during last few years). Instead of competition sections (and the corresponding jury), there were only film screenings and in several sections was presented the exclusive "Best of" film collection of BIAFF 2025 - outstanding films of the year from 20 countries participating in various international festivals (Cannes, Venice, Sundance, Berlinale, Toronto, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, etc.).   Film program was presented in several sections  - “Best of Fests”, “Masters Collection”, “Focus on Ukraine”, “Short Films Collection – International and Georgian”.  Instead of a jury, film lovers could evaluate the films.

The Audience Award was announced in the following categories:

- Audience Choice Feature Film - "Sirat", Oliver Laxe, Spain/France, 2025

- Audience Choice Foreign Short Film - "Alone Together", Omid Mirzaei, Iran, 2025

- Audience Choice Georgian Short Film - "Kalahuta", Davit Gvianidze, Georgia, 2025 and "Telegram", Linda Jaiani, Georgia, 2025

In its upcoming 20^th  anniversary year, BIAF will return to its traditional format with an interesting program, guests, and news.
